The 700 range of low-cost conventional detectors are microprocessor-based, offering features designed to extend the shelf-life of the detector and reduce installed costs to customers.
The 700 series are used in conjunction with conventional 2-wire detection systems, where detectors will normally be connected in zones. Each detector samples the ambient air every 5 seconds. If a fire condition is detected, a signalling current is drawn.
The built-in microprocessor in each 700 series detector provides significantly improved detection algorithms. These algorithms are equivalent to non-Fastlogic in our Gen6 detectors and offer the same detection performance and false alarm rejection.
700 series heat detectors include rate-of-rise and fixed temperature types. These detect high rates of rise of temperature and high temperatures respectively. For general use and where ambient temperatures may be low, the 701H rate-of-rise heat detector may be preferable.
In environments where a sudden change in temperature is normal, such as kitchens, the slower responsiveness of the 702H or 703H fixed temperature detectors may be suitable.
